Outreach

We seek to share the love and grace of God that we have experienced through the Holy Spirit. 

CURRENT Missions Requests:  Maxwell House is in need of men's clothing, any types and sizes.  A donation box is located in the Fellowship Hall.  Augusta Urban Ministries has a shortage of the following gently used items for the Furniture Bank:  pots and pans, beds (except king size), sofas, recliners, applicances (except built in).  Please call AUM at 706.722.8195 for pick up.
 

Heart to Hope Food Pantry

A ministry of Asbury United Methodist Church to serve Christ in providing food, counsel and compassion to those in need.  We are open the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.  Volunteers and Donations are always welcome.  To be served at the Food Pantry, please bring identification for yourself and anyone living in your household.  For more information on the Food Pantry, please click on the Heart to Hope link in the menu to the left.

Released Time

Released Time is a time set aside during the school day when students with parental permission may leave the school to attend off-campus Bible education classes. Classes are held at Asbury United Methodist Church for 4th graders at Monte Sano Elementary whose parents have registered them for the Bible Study Released Time Program.   For more information, please see the Christian Learning Centers of Augusta's website at www.clcaugusta.com.

Augusta Urban Ministries (AUM)

This local ministry (visit their website at http://augusta.actionministries.net/) seeks to care for and empower those struggling to re-establish permanent, sustainable housing through various programs and ministries.  AUM is one of the local organizations that we support with our time, talents and funds.

Burn Center Visitation

Every other month, members of Asbury UMC visit the Burn Center at Doctor's Hospital.  Our members prepare and bring a meal for families of current patients of the Burn Center, providing food, fellowship and prayer.

Community Events

Several time a year, community events are offered at Asbury UMC including Vacation Bible School every summer, yard sales and music events.

World Missions

Asbury UMC is pleased to help sponsor international missionaries, Kirk & Nicole Sims.  The Sims family is currently ministering in Oxford, United Kingdom.
